Well I've officially come back from my nice long weekend away! AND I have flawlessly jumped right back into scrapping!! I'll say this, as much as I was ready for a break from scrapping, I sure did miss it!!!
After all the fun Halloween activities today, I put Macyn to bed and my mom and I jumped into the scrap room pretty much right away! I got two news kits today and was very excited to use them! (I only ended up using one of the kits because I want to save one for some Halloween pictures)
My first page tonight is one I made using some pictures of Macyn and my dad mowing the lawn together :) I used a kit I haven't used before by Bella Blvd. Its called Hello Beautiful :)
I loved the layering that I played with on this layout. Actually both my layouts turned out pretty successful!
Page 1: Grandpa's helper
Page two is the beginning of all my fun Fall layouts! I LOVE fall so I was really excited to scrap the fun pictures I had been taking! I used my NEW kit called Happy Harvest by Imaginisce. I LOVE this kit! SOOOO many embellishments and FUN papers! GREAT.
So here it is! Page 2: Simple Joys

Day 6
So my camera battery is dead AND the website I use to crop my photos is BUSTED so basically this wasn't a good scrappy blog day. The page turned out fine but...I'm frustrated. Oh well! I will feel better once I'm caught up!
I've come to a point in this challenge where I'm feeling not much like scrapping, but I'm still pushing myself to do it. So far I feel at a loss for ideas, but then when I push myself to think about it, I can usually come up with SOMETHING! At least I only have to do one page a day and not more! Even better...I don't have to make cards! I'm not a card maker so that would be a really hard challenge for me!
Well yesterday I started my wedding reception/first anniversary book. I don't plan to push through this one as fast as I did Macyn's birthday book. When I did Macyn's birthday book, I basically didn't allow myself to work on anything other than her birthday book. It became really tedious after awhile. Same thing, different day. Really annoying actually. So when I do our wedding reception book I plan to do a little at a time. See, the nice part about doing Macyn's normal growing up book is that each page is different and I get excited to scrap the pictures because they are new each time. But with these longer projects its pretty much the same stuff. So this time I plan to break it up more and do some different project in between. :)
Here is my Day 6 page. I'm using Echo Park Paper's For the Record kit. I just LOVE this kit SO much! Its pretty much one of my all time favorites!
Well that's all for today! See you on Monday!!

Day 4 and Day 8
Well tonight was the first night that I kind of hit a wall. I didn't have much motivation to get into the scraproom today. But I pushed through it and I did it anyway! AND GREAT NEWS! I am OFFICIALLY done with Macyn's birthday scrapbook! It feels so good because I felt like I was never going to get done! Now its on to our reception book which I really will never get done ;) Kidding. There are over 300 pictures from our wedding reception....see why I feel like I'll never get it done? Yeah.
Anyway. My first page tonight isn't really very good but..its something right? It is my day four and that's what matters.
Then I did one more layout to count as my layout for Sunday. I kind of like how this one turned out...but that might just be because I'm finally done with that book! WHEW!
and I'm done for tonight :) See ya tomorrow :)

Day 3 and Day 7
Hi again. Today is a double feature :) I did two pages today, one to cover me for this weekend when we will be out of town.
This weekend we will be gone two days so I had to make sure that I made two pages. I finished the first page today; so that's out of the way! This sketch I was inspired by a wonderful scrappy friend of mine from my Crafty Enablers group, Heather Rulien Conklin. Heather is actually on a design team for Authentique. She created this page for Authentique's blog. Here is the link to her personal blog where she posted her page:
http://goldiecar.blogspot.com/
Here is my page I made based on her sketch. I used American Crafts Hello Sunshine kit again :) This is another page for Macyn's first year book.
Next up we have a page I created for day 3 :) Its just a fun one I put together using My Mind's Eye Lime Twist. I was a little nervous when I started putting it together, but it turned out great I believe!
I'm really happy with how these two pages turned out :) This challenge is going great so far!!

Crafty Enablers: October Challenge
Hi again :) I just couldn't stay away from the craft room! I was drawn back and I'm glad I went back. I'm happy with what I came up with :)
I met some women, on facebook, through the Scrapbook Steals facebook page. They asked me to join a group they had started called Crafty Enablers. It is a community of 80+ women who all love scrapbooking and are addicted to Scrapbook Steals. I've really loved spending time with this group. One of the best parts about it are the monthly challenges. Each month, one member of the group volunteers to come up with a challenge. This month's challenge was to scrapbook a memory or tradition.
For this challenge I was going to scrapbook an old picture of me at Halloween of Christmas but...eh I wasn't feeling inspired by them. Well I remembered an old picture of myself that I had found recently. It was a picture of myself at 1 year old. My mom had found it and when she showed it to me I was like "WOW! That's Macyn!" She looked just like me! That was a very weird thing to discover because, most of the time, when people see Macyn, they comment on how much she looks like Scott. Only a handful of people actually say she looks like me. Well this picture shows how much she actually does look like me!
Here is my page :)
This one wasn't based on a sketch, and I know its super basic but...I love it :) I tried to keep the pictures as the real forefront in this one. I also wanted to leave the left half of the paper open because I really loved those kites :) So I let the paper and pictures guide me ...and I'm happy with it.
Well...that is definitely all for tonight because its almost 11:30pm and, if you know our family, you will know what that means...Scott will be home any minute! Yay!!
Goodnight!

Day 2
Well day 2 is officially a success :) But now I'm in the mood to craft some more! Good though because that's what this challenge is about! Keeping my mojo up and making myself happy! So I had some happy time this afternoon while the Bean (Macyn for those readers that don't know her nickname) was playing with her daddy (who was home from school before he went to work) So I pulled out a kit I bought awhile ago.
The kit is Hello Sunshine by American Crafts. When I bought this kit, I REALLY wasn't sure about it. I don't much like pastel colors, and when I saw this all I really saw was pastels. Well I opened it for the first time today, and I LOVE it!! My FAVORITE thing about it is that they have these really cool kraft colored papers but they have patterns on one side! They are very cool! The colors aren't even pastel really, they are really pretty warm colors! Fun combos, seriously!
Okay now that I've raved enough about Hello Sunshine, lets move onto the page! I used a new sketch by Basic Grey. They posted this up on their blog today, and even though I didn't use any Basic Grey (because I'm working on Macyn's birthday book still and I didn't have any BG kits that matched really) I loved this sketch and how the page turned out.
Here's the sketch:
and here is my page: I promise the picture doesn't do the kit justice (and the flash made the thickers, for the word "gifts", look shiny and they aren't really that shiny) I love how it turned out :)
Well Day 2 is done! Now on to day 3! :)

Mid Week Mojo- Opal 3
www.scrapbooksteals.com is pretty much my addiction! Seriously. They have two daily deals a day of scrapbook supplies 50-80% off! Its awesome! I have met so many great women through the facebook page. They have really gotten me more and more into scrapping than before.
Each Wednesday, the fantastic Scrapbook Steals blogger Kristy Lee, posts a sketch that she (or a guest sketcher) makes. Then we have until Monday at midnight to post a layout we made using that sketch. Then they pick a random winner to receive a prize! Its been a great way to really keep me going strong, even when I don't feel like scrapping. Plus the sketches are fabulous!
Each 10 weeks of MWMs are named after a gemstone, so this one is Opal. We are already on Opal 3 and here is the sketch:
I loved this sketch so much that I actually made a double page out of it. I rotated the second page to add a little more dimension, and so I could use horizontal photos.
I love how they turned out! I used MME Lime Twist for these pages :)
Well I'm officially done for tonight! Off to watch a little TV and relax now!

Challenge
I'm going to set myself a challenge! From now through November, I'm going to make a page a day! I need something to get excited about, and to challenge myself! I thought I should go for the whole year...but oh man..that's a long time!! So maybe I'll just start with a month and see how it goes! I can do it...if I reallllly try! ;)
A few rules, for those keeping track ;), A layout only counts if I document it on this blog! I have to show where the idea came from, if I use a sketch for example. If I know I won't be able to make a sketch on a certain day, then I have to make a sketch in advance to cover that day.
We will be going out of town this weekend so I have to make some sketches to cover that. Today I made three pages. Those could count for this weekend but...I'm not going to count it ;) I'm going to push myself!!
So here we go! To start I have a page that I got from this sketch, from Sketch Savvy ( sketchsavvy.blogspot.com )
I changed it up a little bit, but nothing too drastic ;) So here is what I made from that sketch:
I used My mind's eye Lime Twist, some random twisty ribbon that I got at Scrapfest that has no name on it, Stampin' up colored cardstock, Sassafras Paper Whimsies, and I think thats it... :)
Next up I have one that I just made up. I'm not in love with it, but it was an easy page to make.
More My Mind's Eye Lime Twist because obviously this is for Macyn's first birthday album. I'm using all MME Lime Twist for this album.
Lastly I have a page that I made from a sketch I drew today.
Here's the sketch. I haaaaaaaaate how this picture turned out but...it gets the job done I guess.
Well that's all for tonight :) Three layouts in a few hours makes for a fairly successful night :) I'll be back with more tomorrow! I'm thinking its time for me to do a layout NOT for M's birthday book. I'm a little tired of doing birthday pictures! There were so many...and how could I not scrap all of them?!?! ;)
Toodles ;)

Authentique Sketch Challenge 1
So the sketch for this challenge was a pretty fun one! I saw it and knew I had a couple great pictures for this layout! I decided to use a couple pictures I had of Macyn playing with a camera.
I used Echo Park paper from the Playground collection. On the sides I used cut up strips of paper, buttons, and some russian netting (to add a little something fun and different) I also misted the sides with some Stampin' Up spray mist.
This sketch sure was a lot of fun!
